Fibers and Moisture Control
Cellulose fibers are hygroscopic by nature, meaning that they absorb atmospheric moisture. This presents interesting challenges for Woodstream and our customers. Nevertheless, our unique compounding technique reduces the internal moisture levels to below .5%, allowing us to create injection-grade pellets with fiber loadings from 30% to 50% without sacrificing the composites' quality and moldability.
Woodstream's compounds arrive at our customers' plants ready-to-process. There is no drying necessary, facilitating the production and lowering the conversion cost.
